Cittadella is a mediaeval walled city in the province of Padua, northern Italy. It was founded in 1220 as a military outpost to defend the territory of Padua. It was built is successive stages with the formation of a protective moat and four drawbridges next to the four entrances gates. Its walls, 14 to 16 meters tall, and 2.10 meters thick.
Today, the walls are all intact except for a small section, and the skilled detail of the construction is still easily visible.
Cittadella since its restoration has become a "must visit" complex for visitors. Pizza is one of the National foods of Italy and the Italian people. In 1889, during a visit to Naples, Queen Margherita of Italy was served a pizza resembling the colors of the Italian flag, red (tomato), white (mozzarella) and green (basil).
The pizza was named after the Queen; Pizza Margherita.
The pizza spread throughout Italy and each region started designing their own versions based on the Italian culinary rule of fresh, local ingredients. Whit the price reasonable, and the taste delicious, pizzas are being eaten by everyone, included you and I.
The big question many people have is "Is Pizza healthy to eat?" A pizza made with a thin base and fresh ingredients, containing far less calories, is the usual choice for Italian people. So, pizza made in the Italian way ends up containing far fewer calories which means you can enjoy it without guilt.
The pizza chefs of Pizza Cittadella are from Cittadella. We use only the Italian imported ingredients and prepare our pizzas in traditional way to bring to you the real an unbeatable Italian taste.
